Essex County Championships
UKA affiliated runners who were born in Essex or have been resident for nine months or more are eligible for the Essex County Championships.
Awards are made to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers (both male and female) and 1st three teams (both male and female).
Also the following age category awards:
• Men – Senior, over 40, 50, 60 and 70
• Women – Senior, over 35, 45, 55 and 65.
The Essex County Amateur Athletic Association Road Race Secretary’s decision as to eligibility on the day is final.
It is not possible to enter the Essex County Championships on the day. Online entries for the marathon close on 3 May 2010.
Road Runners Club Championships
We are pleased to announce that the 2010 Halstead and Essex Marathon will be hosting the Road Runners Club (RRC) Championships. To qualify for the Road Runners Club Championships you will need to be an RRC member before 9 May 2010. The Championship is open to all members of the RRC.
There will be a meeting place and information for members at race HQ. Trophies are awarded to the first male and first female club members and for following categories:
• Men - 1st M40, 1st M50, 1st M60+
• Women - 1st W40, 1st W50
It is not possible to enter the Road Runners Club Championships on the day. Online entries for the marathon close on 3 May 2010.
The Road Runners Club was the first specifically road running club in the world. It is a national organisation and does not conflict with local clubs. It is open to all road runners and provides the runner with "attached" status. It offers many individual benefits to members including group accident insurance while training or racing.
