Question Any places left?

Hiya,

I have already entered, but have a couple of friends maybe wanting to run too, I see the entrants list had not been updated since the weekend so wondered if you still have places left, as there was only just over 100 left as of then, but of course that was 5 days ago.

Just that one of them doesnt know if he can get the day off work until next weekend, so I said I would try to find out if many places left, as am guessing you may be full by the day?

Cheers,

SS

Marathon space

Please could you let me know if there are any more spaces? It now says closed and I am desperate to gain a place on a marathon asap since the Stratford upon avon was cancelled yesterday. All this training cannot go to waste!

Please contact me if this is possible as I would be most grateful.

Best wishes,

Lauren

Entry link

Hi Lauren.

It looks like you can still enter via the following link

http://halsteadroadrunners.net/index.php?page=entryinfo

I think the "Closed" you are referring to is just the forum thread itself which says that. I would not leave it long though, as there were only just over 100 places last Sunday, and likely to be some disappointed London runners looking to put their times right here that have since entered.

Regards,

Paul.

We have some places on the day arrive early and there is a £10 surcharge on the on line price.
I have been emailed by someone from Southend are you part of that contingent.

Hi,

I ran Brighton last month with the intention of running Halstead if my legs had recovered, as I wanted to make the most of my 16 week training.

I knew I would miss the deadline on the 5th, as I wanted to rest up sufficiently before attempting a longish run Sunday to see how I was. All is fine, and my plan was to turn up early next Sunday morning to see if I could get a place on the day.

Unfortunately, a fortnight ago, a friend of a similar age to me collapsed and died from a heart attack. It occurred to me that I could use my run as a way to raise money for his family's chosen charity. The only person aware of my plan is my wife and I would only begin trying to raise money is with his widow's agreement.

I'm not asking for any special dispensation, but could let me know what my chances are of getting a place if I turn up at 8am on the day? I would hate to start raising money, only to find out that I can't run.

Your reply would be greatly appreciated.

Chris
